WHEN YOU HEARD that a woman set fire to her house while trying to kill a spider, you probably thought it was a one-time thing, right?
Wrong. A man in the US city of Seattle has done significant damage to his home after trying to kill a spider – with a lighter and a can of spray paint.
Oh honey, no.
According to local news station KOMO, he spotted the spider in his laundry room and decided to smoke it out.
The resulting fire caused $40,000 worth of damages to the house, plus another $20,000 to replace or repair the contents of the home.
A spokesperson from the Seattle Fire Department told KOMO News:
The spider tried to get into the wall. He sprayed flames on the wall, lit the wall on fire, and that extended up to the ceiling.
“There are safer, more effective ways to kill a spider than using fire,” he added.
You’re telling us.
